Dr. Iwata obtained his Ph.D. degree in mechanical engineering from Osaka University. After working on computational fluid dynamics in the graduate school, he engaged in basic/applied research and social implementation projects related to environment/energy such as multiphase flow analysis, waste heat utilization, artificial photosynthesis, and hydrogen production as a postdoctoral fellow at Stanford University, researcher at Toyota Central R&D Labs, and visiting scholar at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He joined Microwave Chemical Co., Ltd. in January 2023 and has been appointed as a general manager of Fundamental Research Department.
